AMAV - 6/10
“Aadavaari Maatalaku Arthaale Verule” is a movie with feel. If u watch it with good mood n get involved in the film u will certainly like it at the same time if u watch it in just like that way it may not entice u much.
Itz an interesting combination of a young director working with a serior hero like Venky. This might not be said as an extra ordinary film n can also be not rated as a bad movie. It depends on how an individual takes the film.
Whatz itz all about ?
To skim the storyline:
Venky is a good for nothing, age bar candidate who successfully fails in all of his interviews n struggles in making a career. Receives unanamious response from all quarters commenting him in all possible ways. He then falls in love at first sight with Trisha n interestingly with her encouragement clears all rounds of interviews n gets into a software company n falls as trainee under Trisha. Then proposes her, she then reveals that she is about to get married in a couple of months n that she hails from a traditional family n can’t think about LOVE. Kota who is the father of Venky tries to convince Trisha n it results in much destruction of Trisha slapping both Venky n Kota. Kota passes away and Venky becomes dumbstruck. On seeing his situation his friend Sriram takes him to his native for his marriage n mean while Venky comes to know that it is Trisha with whom Sriram is getting married..so post interval is all about how Venky gets into the big family of Sriram and ends up in marrying Trisha.
Highlights:
– AMAV- title is very good. Itz a clean title which attracts all classes of audience…especially families who r facing the extreme dearth of decent movies.
– Histrionics is the area, where in this film has shown notable difference. Each and every character has performed well. Venky, Trisha have given very good performances.
– Venky should be commended for picking up such plot where in he is shown to such a waste level of Ravi Krishna in 7/g. Itz a welcoming move from such a biggie in industry. He has been open to roles but here he has come down many steps. Kudos to Venky who is concerned only about the character n not charisma.
– This movie strikes not u r mind but u r heart at times. Every moving heart surely effects eyeballs n scrolls tears with out ur notice. Especially Kota’s and Venky’s affectionate father and son relation is a moving one. Kota has brought in realistic emotions. Venky’s love failure, Trisha’s love confusions…etc all move u a lot in this movie.
– First half is a big highlight for this movie. Choosing the back drop of software company is quite refreshing and is easily identified by youth as these days almost every andhra student is becoming software engineer this back drop is really a good move and the
director has cleverly shifted the base to family environment in second half to cover varied sets of audience.
– Sunil has acted very well in phone conversation scene.
– Music doesn’t sound great in audio and it doesn’t sound bad in video. On screen, music seems to have done right justice.
“naa manasuki praaNam pOsi” song is simply superb in all ways. It is excellently canned n is surely an eye catcher one.
“cheli chammaku” has interesting beats though it recalls “Dol Dol Re jara jara” in Pokiri.
“allanta dooraanaa” is a haunting one.
Remaining songs r also watchable ones.
Yuvan Shankar Raja has givenice music to suit to the requirements. Itz his amazing calibre of bringing in energy even in tragic songs. Energy is his energy.
– Heroine introduction is one of the best in recent times. Itz an interesting way of introducing herione and the budding love of hero over her…!!!
– Selva Raghavan, is the master of montages. His biggest strength is the way he canns montages. U just sit glued to u r seat with ongoings..he has excelled in this craft ..as they r many montages with good creativity.
– Climax twist is a very interesting one. Pre-climax shows Trisha meeting Venky watched by Viswanath. Only 3 characters exist in this scene. After this, in marriage episode, when Venky gets wounded, except Viswanath n Trisha all the remaining members of family run towards Venky. This is the excellence shown in the script department.
- - Though dialogues on the whole are not a big shake..there r some noteworthy ones…
like -
“oka magaaDu nachchaDamE porapaaTaitE ee parpanchamlO aaDavallandaru tappu chEsina vaarE avutaaru.”
“udyogam kOsam wait chEsi chEsi alasipOyaanu..urgent gaa oka watch konukkOvaali.”
– The initial bit song “this person is a loser” is too good.
– Venky has carried the film on his shoulders pretty easily. His performance especially the comedy timing in first half shows his acting excellence. The interview scenes..Trisha..n his scenes have all worked out very well in first half. The scenes after Kota’s death show the brilliance of Venky’s expressions. It is shown very realistically on how people would react on losing their closed ones.
– Trisha suits perfectly as Project Manager and also as a traditional girl. She has also brought in good performance. But her character in second half recalls ATHADU, NVND…Her costumes n looks r having great screen presence.
– Raghava has brought in some interesting points in love conflicts with interesting dialogues in interval by Venky and confusion posed by Trisha in climax about a traditional girl’s reaction towards love.
Lowlights:
– AMAV - title. No proper justification is given to the title though at times itz shown with Trisha character on how restricted n careful r good girls with their words.
– After refreshing backdrop of software company u wud be taken to much routine family environment which has pretty common to normal movie watcher’s eye. The same thing is seen in hundreds of telugu films.. it is for sure that every one recalls Santosham, Kalisundaam raa, Murari..etc movies in second half. Routine second half has dropped the range of this film but it is still a safe bet to strike the chords of family audience.
– The director’s trails of showing difference in joint family environment in a village might bring in laugh for some but it causes some incovenience as we can’t laugh heartfully.
– Slow narration is one main drawback. It patiently tests u r patience. The film is also lengthy one..15 to 20 minutes of the movie can be easily trimmed.
– Colors swathi character is not a commendable one. Because of this character only the shades of DDLJ are clearly evident. Itz quite embarassing situation even to watch..the love that Swathi develops for Venky. However in the conclusion of this, director has given a bit good justification.
– There r some illogical scenes like Sriram being close friend of Venky and fiancee of Trisha, not knowing that they both work in the same company.
– There r many unnecessary scenes in movie..like the post drink scene of Trisha n Venky..etc These scenes added in nothing.
Final Touch:
AMAV is a movie worth watching for its emotional content, good expressions….inspite of routine second half n slow narration. Selva Raghavan has come up with a nice plot for Venky which attracts youth n family audience. Too many shades of earlier films makes this film not a great one but itz worth a watch as this is a moving movie.
‘Re”view’ing is the case with some for entertaining first half.
