My saga of superstitions - 2

Posted by Ashok Varma on Sunday, April 13th, 2008

It happened in 1998 when I was in my tenth standard. It was during our Quarterly examinations, that I didn’t write telugu paper well, I was sure that my marks will drop to rock bottom and there used to be strong rift between girls and boys in our class for the top slot.

Boyz were just 14 and girls were 23 but it was we boyz who used to dominate the show. There used to be 3 to 4 boyz and around 7 girls among whom there used to be intense competition.

In such critical moment I failed miserably in telugu paper probably due to a cricket match on the day before exam. I was in total depression, not mainly because I’ll get less marks but this makes girls batch happy. We were supposed to get the answer sheets in the afternoon session. With such sad mood, I went home that fine day during lunch time and was returning when I saw the most horrible unsituational incident of a viewing a black cat crossing the lane right infront of me :x as if it was a tiger, it also saw me and gave a gentle smile meanwhile..but I had a very strong opinion that if such thing happens then the very next moments would be horrible.

By then I was sure ..that my chapter would be closed for the day..but to my utter shock, I don’t remember how (may be correction mistake) but I didn’t lose as many marks as I thought :o

This wiped out the superstition of black cat syndrome.. for a while, but after few other occasions I discovered that the black cat effect has its affect(negative effect) in some occasions. So I fell in a dilemma whether to believe it or not and after close observation I discovered that when the black cat comes infront of u and crosses from left to right it the sign of good luck and when it crosses from right to left then it is the sign of ill luck ;)

So this discovery is veru much true as far as my experiences go.. and might be followed by all in future..who knows..

U too check it out..when u find it..!!!
