Okanokappudu - 4/10

Menu:

Cast: Four Guys, Subbaraya Sharma, Bennerjee, Telangana Shakuntala, Shankar Melkote

Music: Ilya

Cameraman: Bliss Holloway

Director: Krishna Nori

Banner: Virinchi Creations - Venkat Goud

Soup/Starters:

This is touted as the first HD Digital Film. The posters and trailers are impressive.

This film is all about 4 guys who are ditched in Group I interviews. How they react on the culprit who accidentally gets into their house fills the film.

Spicy Items:

– Ultra Low Budget: This film proved that a feature film can be shot in minimum budget. The film was rolled in a single schedule of 11 days in August. Now young aspirants can think of producing their own films if they have a promising idea.

– Performances: Though some of the actors look scary on screen, most of them have delivered good performances.

- Subbaraya Sharma did a lengthy role and it proves how much ease he has in acting. After watching his performance one would feel that he has been an under rated actor in main stream cinema.
- Telangana guy has done a fab job.

– The director concentrated only on the main theme of the film and didn’t deviate from it. He concentrated on many current affairs and delivered some good satires. He seems to have had a good experience with Group I.

– Narrating the point in various flashbacks is interesting.

– The length of the movie is 96 Minutes. It is a lengthy short film.

– Some interesting points/dialouges in the film:

- dorikina chotalla addamgaa tintaaru kaani tindi koodaa sarigga tinaleni rogalanni meeke vastayi.

- PM/CM lu 80-90 yendla musili vaallu avvochchu kaani sadharana Govt. employee maatram 60 yendlakae retire avvaalaa ?

- Sharma: Babu, nuvvu naa koduku laantodivi nannu vadiley please
Telangana guy: Daddy, mari Outer Ring road lo vunna 3 plots naa peruna vrastava ?

- Friend1: yera nuvvu kooda Non-Veg tinochchu kadaa ?
Friend2: mana poorikulu, kotulu vegeterian, so manam koodaa ade follow aitey better.

- Poster in their room:
You can’t do everything, but every one can do something.

- Mana gang lo nuvvokadivey mandu kottani ‘Mudalavan’ (oke okkadu) anukunna.

- ee prapanchamlo avakasam lekaney 99% mandi manchollu laagaa vunnaru. Namitha nu nokke chance vastey yevadanna vadilipedataadaa ?

- Risk anedi annitlo vuntundi, noppi lenidey Nayanatara dorukutundaa ?

Dry Items:

– Lack of exciting moments bores you all the while. There is nothing special in this film. It is like a documentary on Group I Interviews. It missed out minimum elements

required in a script.

– There are some unnecessary scenes in the film that tests your patience.

- Lengthy Drama dialogues
- Lengthy discussion around the table and the camera moving 360 degrees.

– There are no songs, BGM is also sloppy most of the times.

Final Touch:

There are no crowd pulling factors in the film and there is nothing much to rave about it. It is more like a short film. There is no point in people taking the pains to go to the theatre and watch this film which offers nothing special. Director has shown his efficiency in bringing out a film with a concept and some good dialogues. A sensational idea is required to gain the interest of public for such films. Probably if he can work on a good idea, then might create a revolution with such films.

There is no point in Re-viewing it except you are one of the future digital film makers.

People might recollect it as, ‘Once upon a time’ there was a film ‘Okanokappudu’ for its budget factor.
