Business Idea: Mobile Recharge - Website

Now a days every individual owns a mobile. The plans of Airtel, Idea, Vodafone… are more or less the same. Majority of the people are pre-paid customers. Recharge coupons is the most used means for refilling the talk time. They are easily available in many different ways.

Still as far as I know, there’s no proper website which does automated refilling.

Banks like ICICI are providing online mobile recharging directly through the bank account. Unfortunately it is not handled properly and I’ve also been a victim of its loopholes. The main problem is the unavailability of plan details. This results in lot of confusion. Added to this, a bank has support for only a few service providers.

How would it be, if we can move the functionality of a recharge coupons shop to a website ?

Usually when talk time elapses at night, people can’t get it recharged till the next day. So if an automated website exists then people would be at great advantage.

All that is needed is:

1) Just like a Shop Keeper who sells Recharge Coupons, get all latest plan details and purchase the coupons.

2) Prepare a website and present the plans info. Create a payment gateway, so that customers can order a coupon using Debit Card/Credit Card/Funds Transfer. Upon getting the amount, send the secret recharge card number to his mobile/email which he provides. This can be automated and as and when amount is received, respective recharge coupon number can be delivered to the customer.

It is heard that theres a good margin that a dealer gets for a recharge coupon. Some say its between 3 to 5 rupees for a 100 Rupee Card. Probably that is the reason why some shop keepers concentrate only on this.

Now a days who ever uses internet has a bank account.

If you can provide payment support from all bank cards and provide all service provider’s plans there are many chances for the site getting clicked. People would get the recharge number instantly. You would be getting the margin. Service providers would be getting more sales.

When I’ve explored whether such websites already exists, I came to know about a couple of sites. One of them seemed very good but it was started well but was stalled later on.

If you can put your persistent efforts then this can become a prospective business as there is good market on internet that you can capitalize !!!
