Easy ways to type, convert to pdf, print documents in Telugu

For all the people who are searching for the ways to type, convert to pdf and print documents in Telugu these tips might be useful:

Typing Telugu:

You can type Telugu easily using Lekhini tool which implements RTS ( a way in which Telugu can be written in English) and converts the content to Telugu literals. For more information on typing Telugu and RTS format check out.

Now comes the task of saving the Telugu content into files.

1) You can copy the converted content in Telugu in Lekhini Telugu Dialog and paste it in Notepad/Word pad/MS Word. These are to be preferred in the mentioned order.

Only if you do not have Unicode support in Notepad/Wordpad try in MS Word. In most of the cases Notepad would be having the support in Windows XP Operating System.

Once you save your document you can print them. The problem in this way of saving is, when you carry the documents to another system which is of different OS and other settings Telugu Literals might not be seen. That’s why converting to pdf is a better option.

2) Convert to PDF:

There are many ways in which in you can convert the saved Telugu Documents to PDF.

a) Andhar Bharati Online Tool:

Just paste the RTS script typed in Lekhini into this tool and it generates the PDF document for you.

Though it takes time for conversion it is an awesome online tool indeed.

So try: http://www.andhrabharati.com/rts2pdf/

b) Install free software like, PDF995

Upon installation, when you click on Print option on a document, a new printer option is shown in Printer dialog. Select “PDF995″ it generates a PDF for you.
