Kotta Bangaru Lokam – Movie Review
Kotta Bangaru Lokam – 6.5/10
Menu:
Cast: Varun Sandesh, Swetha Prasad, Prakash Raj, Jaya Sudha, Ahuti Prasad, Rao Ramesh
Music Director: Mickey J. Meyer
Cinematographer: Chota K. Naidu
Producer: Dil Raju
Story-Screenplay-Dialogues-Direction: Srikanth Addala
Soups/Starters:
Its a fresh routine love story.
Varun Sandesh is the only son of ideal parents, Prakash Raj and Jaya Sudha. Swetha is the only daughter of Villainish Ahuti Prasad. They both join the same college to study Intermediate. As usual they fall in love. On seeing their photograph in News Paper as extreme lovers, College Principal bashes them. Ahuthi Prasad takes his daughter to his home. Prakash Raj and Jaya Sudha are not aware of these things. The rest is all about how these lovers get united.
Spicy Items:
– First half: It is the major highlight of the film. Fresh backdrop of corporate kinda education in Intermediate and innovative ideas have made it a treat to watch.
– Music is one of its major assets. Almost all the songs are good on the screen.
- ‘Kalasalalo’ song is picturised very well. Showing subject elements of physics,chemistry..etc as part of dance movements is interesting.
- ‘Confusion…confusion’ song has fine movements.
– There are some interesting scenes, dialogues in the film:
- Heroine’s characterization is interesting. Especially her style of imitating Anchor’s dialect is very funny.
- Question mark, Powder, Stencil, fingers, pet bottles, Hole in a news paper, Stones…what not ???
All such simple yet pretty things have been used to the core to showcase love elements. Kudos to the director.
- Using Jalsa’s ‘Gaallo telinattundey…raayi petti kottinattundey’ song in a fight is hilarious.
- The guys and girls who acted as hero, heroine’s friends are excellent. Especially ‘Sudha…Raga Sudha’ girl steals the show with couple of scenes in the second half.
- The scene in which Raga Sudha meets Swetha on the pretext of her friend is very good.
- A T-Shirt depicting To-let board in Heart symbol is worn by a side kick.
- Notes in Toilet are used excellently to give shocks to the Principal ‘Rai Pal’ enacted by Brahmanandam.
- Warden’s varitey english of using words like ‘Readu..Readu…” is fine.
-
Swethaa: “yentee inta late ? neekosam araganta nunchi wait chestunna”
Varun: “ee aragantaaa nee kosame aalochistunna, ok naa ?”
- Long hair episode of heroine and her mother.
- Mom’s love to her kid is shown well with some scenes.
- Usage of Three Dimensional View on Love symbol to discuss various stages of life is interesting and evoked some laughs.
– Varun Sandesh is ok. His diction, tone are good. He improved in dances too. But the natural ease is missing in his steps.
He should concentrate on his costumes and hair duo. Half shirts and his hari style at times looked awry.
– Swetha Prasad is different and suits to her role.
Dry Items:
– Second half: It is very boring and couldn’t capitalize on the feel that the first half puts in.
– Rao Ramesh who acted as Ex-Naxalite in Gamyam has carried the same tempo for Physics Lecturer character too and went over board many times. At times he seemed
to be imitating K.A.Paul.
– Climax is a straight inspiration from ‘Suswagatham’. When the protagonist is in deep love, his father death bringing a change in his attitude is used as it is.
– Prakash Raj is very dull in the film.
– There are some insipid scenes in the film:
Eg:
- Hero craving for his lover and meeting her, when theres an important examination. Showing a duet made the scene even worse.
Finger Bowl:
The film starts in Bommarillu’s way. In Bommarillu the central point is shown with father-son relation. Here it is shown with Mother-Baby relation.
Director should be commended for his excellent home work on the subject. His hard work is obvious. However, he should have concentrated more on the second half. Its an
impressive debute for him.
The film sounds very interesting with its excellent first half but the second half is totally on the converse side. If it had been in the same level of first half, then one more block
buster was guaranteed for Dil Raju. Second half made all the difference. Even the presence of Prakash Raj, Jaya Sudha couldn’t save second half.
On the whole theres nothing new in the story. Its a routine story told in a fresh backdrop of corporate intermediate college.
Altogether its an average to above average film. Not another block buster from Dil Raju.

Hi Deepak,
This film doesn’t deserve 4/5. Many people who have watched it are opining the same. Don’t know why most of the reviewers are promoting it as a block buster. You can go through comments section in some sites. Majority of people are against the second half.
This film can be watched at leisure. First half is very good. Second half is the culprit.
This is a very bad movie.Just don’t watch it.my rating
2/5.

hi friends,
this ia pure love story based on teen age. we can find love, affection, emotion all the thing in it which made the movie very sweet. in what a way director srikanth has presented the movie is fantastic. he has give picture of true love and romance without any sex efforts. it is really great.
actually its a messege carrying movie to our teen agers with giving the entertainment.
As it is a teen age based movie there will be a view of over exposing. but in a traditional way they presented the costume of heroin and other support artists meanwhile the heroin looks very glamerous and beartiful.one can watch the movie with parents and other members of his family without any hesitation.
both the hero and heroin did their role well.
the songs and music is really heart beating one.
it is very cool and guiding entertainment i had ever seen like godavari, bommarillu, happy days, ullasamga utsahanga.
really, it’s a golden piece by director srikanth.
