Harsha’s Betterhalf:
- Harsha and Anita were batchmates at IIM-A from 1983-85. As fellow students they used to hang around together and even they don’t know how love blossomed between them. They were busy with studies and used to meet frequently in canteen with friends.
Harsha’s undemanding nature, clean habits and great sense of humour impressed her and her pleasant nature and friendly attitude moved Harsha. Six months after completing studies, they got married on 3rd November 1985.
- Anita did schooling in Mumbai and was always on the merit list. Her love towards Maths made her do B.Sc (Statistics) and she ranked first in it. She did post-graduatioin in Statistics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and then post-graduation from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Her father was in the Police Department and he was the Head of Maharashtra Police when he retired.
Anita started her career in advertising and then spent about 10 years running a communication consultancy and qualitative research agency, even scripting and producing three TV ad commercials. Then both Anita and Harsha started a company called Prosearch Consultants. This company conducts workshops for senior managers on translating winning sports strategies to the field of business and has carried out the programme for Indian corporates like HLL, Pepsi, Glaxo Smithkline etc. Anita creates the content and Harsha presents it. “The Winning Way” is their first flagship product.
- Anita is Harsha’s best friend and chief advisor. Their kids love Formula 1 and Anita is not crazy about Cricket.
His most memorable day at IIM-A:
The day he had met the person heI would spend the rest of his life with. He adds more about his IIM-A days, ” The first term was devastating and the last day was a bit emotional. While I didn’t yet realise how important the two years were going to be, there was sadness at the fact that it was over and that is why I tend to go back as often as I can. There was one other event that was crucial for me and that is when the PGP chairman, now director, Prof Bakul Dholakia, allowed me to miss my second term exams to do my first test match as a television commentator. I did my papers after I came back and that kind of academic flexibility is one reason why the IIMs are awesome institutions.”
His favorite Cricket match:
The Test match in which India beat England at Leeds in 2002 because in that match, they took bold decisions, batted brilliantly in a bowler friendly conditions and spinners won the game on the last day.
His idols:
He likes Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman. He likes people who underplay their abilities and let their performances speak for themselves. He admired Ganguly for his spunk but his all time favourite cricketer is Anil Kumble. Harsha feels that like Tendulkar, Kumble carries great achievements very lightly. As a child his cricketing idols were Sunil Gavaskar and BS Chandrasekhar.
– There was a talent hunt named after Harsha – ‘Hunt for Harsha’
– He has also written a book, Azhar – The Authorized Biography of Mohammad Azharuddin.
– He was the advisor to the Mumbai Indians for the 2008 IPL.
– He also likes other sports. He hosted FIFA 2006 Worldcup.

Dear Harsha,
I have got male pattern baldness and considering of getting hair transplant done. During my initial search I came across Dr manoj Khanna who says, he has performed hair transplant on you and Arun Lal. There was no mean to verify his claim and there are lots of quacks I wonder if you could please let me know the doctor who performed your hair transplant as results look real great.
