I knew Amit Agarwal only as  Professional Blogger but this idea from him really surprised me. For the ones who do not know about him, he is recognized as the first professional blogger of India. He revolutionized blogging in India. He had quit from a lucrative IT Career when he was working for ADP, Hyderabad and went to his hometown, Agra. He is a different kind of entrepreneur who has shown the Indian World that there are many avenues available for making a decent career apart from the Software Jobs.

His blog Digital Inspiration (labnol.org) gets 3 to 4 million page views per month. His primary source of income is from Google Adsense. That should be a pretty big amount, I guess. He blogs about technology gadgets, accessories and about many useful tools. Probably theres no Indian News Channel that didn’t Inteview him. He gives many seminars and is propagating blogging all over the nation.

Coming to his new idea sleepingtime.org, its about querying your favorite person on twitter and know his sleeping time. I was bowled when I first read about it. There are many people who are creating websites using the APIs exposed by Google, Twitter, Facebook and they are short of ideas on how best to use them and grab people’s attention.

With an interesting idea, Amit has done it. Looks like its an easy task to analyze the time pattern of a particular user on Twitter and guess his sleeping time. As twitter has already became a raze, mostly many users join it to follow the tweets of their favorite stars. Obviously such people would be interested in knowing the minutest details of their star and this site touches one such fine aspect.

I have tried some entries on sleepingtime site and though the results didn’t sound accurate I still appreciate the idea. Anything that Amit does now becomes a hit as he has over 80,000 feed subscribers. Being in such a comfortable situation if he introduces a decent idea it scores well and thus sleepintime clicked. It has already bounced on Alexa.
